and be satisfied, and you will bless ADONAI your God for the good land he has given you” (Deut. 8:10). Remembering is a vital ingredient of Judaism. In the Tanakh and the traditions, there are constant reminders of what God has done in the past. He is never just the Creator God; he is always the One who “brought us up out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.” He is the God who chose to be in relationship to with his people.
